It is very important to joint children to libraries, knowledge,
cultural values on the basis of the activity of city libraries for
children. The priorities are the following:
- the inculcation of new information technologies for provision
of wide access to information;
- the support of subculture of childhood through unities, competitions,
festivals of creative works of young readers.
The most important moments of everyday activity of Libraries for
children are:
- to develop reading skills from the early childhood, to make
children understand the importance of reading as a basis of development
of intelligence and spirituality;
- to help young users in education and self-education, in gaining
knowledge and skills to search and use information.
The search and approbation of effective forms of work with children
is fulfilled through the following programmes:
- "Media-Centre for Children: knowledge and information without
limits" (2001-2003)
- "Creation of electronic products to help in education of
schoolboys and schoolgirls" (from 2001)
- "Developing / meaningful / family readings" (from
1993)
